Google Local is now Google+ Local!

Google launched Google+ Local Yesterday, a new local social search experience for Googler that will raised in Google’s mobile search, Google+ & Google Search.  Google said it has determined to provide Googler more localized experience with personalized data.

As Google just announced Google+ Local,  there will surely be numerous other updates and improvements in the near future for made Google+ Places more interesting. Here’s the nutshell that can be seems to be major changes to you.

Google+ Places Home
1. Google Place pages still exist as a separate entity when searching on the “Search” tab in Google and clicking on the Review link.  However, when clicking on the marker in “Search” or viewing the results on the “Maps” tab searchers are led directly to the Google + Local Page.  We would venture to guess that pretty soon clicking on the review link in “Search” will also lead to the Google + Local page.
2. Most data submitted to Google Place Pages has been pulled into Google+ Local pages (address, phone number, description, photos, our analytics tagged website URL, menu links, categories); however, this may just be that the changes have not rolled out completely.
3. A “Local” tab can now be found within Google+ Page.
4. Some discrepancies exist between the reviews found on Place pages and those on Google+ Local pages.
5. Previously created Google+ pages for local businesses still exist separately and nothing has changed with regards to the management of these pages.
6. Google+ Local pages cannot publish content or engage with users like regular Google+ Pages can.
7. Zagat reviews and ratings are including on Google+ Local pages.
8. Google + Local pages can be shared and +1’d.
9. Search results can be filtered by “Top Reviewer“.  There is actually a significant shift in results when applying this filter.  Availability varies by city and vertical.
